Steve bought The Pond Barn just at the end of the summer (2017), with the help of his accountant they put a business plan together to save the pub from closure, to keep this community asset alive and open for the village.
We closed for 11 days and undertook a full refurbishment, including a new main roof (thanks to Steve’s nephews, brother and brother in law).
The main bar has been opened and modernised along with a complete whole new extended kitchen. The garden, although looking 100% better with our new decking and seating area with outdoor TV, is more inviting and is a work in progress for the next 2 year’s, which will include pond side dining with fountains.
Steve’s grandparents moved to East Wittering in 1937 (Russell Road). We have very fond memories of old day’s in the Pond Barn, and that was the driving force behind buying it and bringing it up to date.
“I’m very lucky to have amazing staff around me, who are as dedicated to taking the Pond Barn forward.
Our new head chef Paul Jones and his kitchen team have transformed our weekday food and Sunday carvery, I have several family members working with me including Deano (brother-in-law) and one of my nephews (Sam) and often have family come and help out.”
We are family and dog friendly and a warm welcome awaits you.
